Tim Minchin AM is an award-winning Australian composer, lyricist, musician, comedian, writer, and performer whose multi-hyphenate career spans theatre, television, film, and live performance. Best known for his sharp wit, musical ingenuity, and incisive commentary, Tim gained international acclaim with Matilda the Musical, for which he composed the music and lyrics. The show has received more than 85 international awards, including Olivier and Tony Awards, and continues to captivate audiences globally. His follow-up stage musical, Groundhog Day, enjoyed successful runs in London and on Broadway, and returned to Melbourne in 2024.


Tim’s creative output includes the hit television series UPRIGHT, multiple solo tours, and his critically praised studio album Apart Together. He has performed at venues ranging from the Royal Albert Hall to the Sydney Opera House, often blending comedy, music, and deeply personal storytelling. He’s also acted in screen roles from Californication to The Artful Dodger, voiced animated characters, and published children’s books. Honoured as a Member of the Order of Australia, Tim is a passionate advocate for the arts and for social causes, supporting numerous charities and institutions across Australia and the UK.
