David Gonski

David Gonski AC is Chancellor of the University of New South Wales and Chairman of the UNSW Foundation Ltd. He also serves as Non-Executive Chairman of Barrenjoey Capital Partners, Chairman of Sydney Airport, and Chairman of Levande Living. Across an expansive career in corporate governance, education, and philanthropy, David has held leadership roles that span finance, the arts, and public policy. His deep involvement with institutions such as the Lowy Institute, LeapFrog Investments, and multiple charitable foundations reflects a consistent commitment to civic life and national progress.

David’s past leadership includes chairing ANZ Banking Group, the Australian Securities Exchange, Coca-Cola Amatil, and the Guardians of the Future Fund, among many others. He was the architect of the landmark Review to Achieve Educational Excellence in Australian Schools—commonly referred to as the “Gonski Report”—which helped shape contemporary debate around school funding and equity in Australia. He has also contributed his expertise to organizations across the public and private sectors, including the Australia Council for the Arts, the Takeovers Panel, and boards in aviation, telecommunications, and education.

Through his involvement with the Advisory Panel, David brings a lifetime of experience in governance, policy, and social investment.
